About
What am I doing now?
I’ve continued to build my Java/JavaScript experience both at work, in volunteering, and attending various MeetUp groups. At work, I’ve written multiple JavaScript front-end/back-end interfaces to streamline Accounting processes, identifying appropriate technical solutions where new interfaces can contribute to significantly more efficient processes.
Why me?
The extensive experience I have gained has taught me a lot about what it takes to make systems work, provide solutions that help users get work done, and most importantly, contribute to the success of the businesses I have been a part of. I have been lucky enough to have been a part of several great teams that are successful not only because we work well together, but also because we enjoy being together.
Skills
Many developers have knowledge. Some even have broad experience. Very few have the skills needed for creating success. Time after time, I have proven my value by contributing the art of problem solving to each situation I’ve been given, with dedication and insight. Each lesson learned has proven invaluable, whether from success or failure. Setbacks only drive me to work harder, improve systems to work better, and help everyone I work with be successful.
Experience
Everywhere I’ve worked, I’ve been able to join interesting companies with great teams and work with incredible people. Each has been filled with opportunity for growth and lessons to learn that proved more valuable than simply adding technical skills, including:
- Gaining insight into what makes software more useful to users, so that process design achieves results needed by users.
- Prioritizing features needed to make sure that current projects can be completed within the desired time frame.
- Improving abilities to isolate root causes for software failures and make necessary corrections to prevent future problems.
Education
I’ve come to appreciate the full value of my liberal arts education. It often helps me to understand technical issues outside the area of my expertise, improve my ability to communicate technical ideas to others at different levels, and given me a continued desire to improve my knowledge of new technologies.
Bring me onto your team. You won’t regret it!
